Connect your students with local engineers in the I’m an Engineer: Metre Zone

21 Jan 2021

I’m an Engineer connects students with real engineers online.

In the activity, students:

  • Read profiles of engineers in different careers
  • Ask their own questions to engineers about everything and anything
  • Chat with engineers during a 40-minute, text-based live chat session
  • Vote for their favourite engineer to win £500 to do more STEM engagement

Students can take part from home. It’s safe, secure, easy and flexible, and free for all state-maintained UK schools and colleges.

Teachers: connect your students with STEM!

Engineers: engage school students with your work!

The Metre Zone (1st-26th March) is funded by the Digital Engineering Technology & Innovation initiative (DETI), as part of the Inspire programme led by the Engineering, Design and Mathematics Department at the University of the West of England (UWE).
