Women Like Me launch – outreach training for women engineers

14 Sep 2018

Women Like Me is a peer mentoring and outreach project for women in engineering, which aims to open doors to girls and build resilience for women working in engineering in the Bristol and Bath region. Senior female engineers mentor junior female engineers, who in turn undertake outreach activities with children and young people.

If you’re a teacher who wants a Women Like Me trained engineer to come into your school and inspire your students, contact engineeringourfuture@uwe.ac.uk.

The launch event for Women Like Me is 16:30 – 18:00 on 18th October and attendees will receive free People Like Me taster training from WISE’s Sarah Behenna, followed by networking with professionals from across the region.

Booking is essential for the training, so if you’re a woman in engineering please sign up here.

Engineering is a creative, socially conscious, and collaborative discipline, and this project aims to support girls and women to make a difference in society. Women Like Me is based at the University of the West of England (UWE), supported by the WISE Bristol Hub and STEM Ambassador Hub West England and funded by a Royal Academy of Engineering Ingenious grant.
