Ammar works for Future Leap helping organisations reduce their climate impact by providing advice and guidance across all areas of environmental and social sustainability.
He used to work in the Oil & Gas industry but a growing sense of eco-guilt made him want to change career. Now Ammar works with companies to assess their carbon footprint, conduct energy reviews, develop carbon reduction plans, and establish their net zero pathway!
Surprising bit? “Many people assume sustainability roles are solely focused on environmental science, but they often require a blend of skills from various fields such as business, engineering, policy, and even social sciences!” Ammar has used his transferable skills to move into this green job.

Workplace: Ammar’s usually found at his laptop making presentation slides and crunching numbers in spreadsheets and carbon data calculation software. He works with a team of other sustainability consultants and externally speaks to companies and local councils.
Best bit? “Site visits! You get access to behind-the-scenes of many business/manufacturing operations and it is always exciting! Although, you do not want to be out in the freezing cold and rain haha!”
