Join us to accelerate sustainability across schools in the South West
School and trust leaders from across the South West recently came together at UWE Bristol for the inaugural South West Schools Sustainability Gathering, a collaborative event designed to support the development and implementation of Climate Action Plans in education settings. Led by the South West Sustainability Network, in partnership with UWE Bristol and organisations including Climate Ambassadors, Let’s Go Zero, the National Education Nature Park and others, the gathering provided an opportunity to share best practice, hear from sustainability experts and strengthen collaboration across the region.
The event brought together leaders from Early Years, primary, secondary and further education to explore practical approaches to climate and nature action. Through presentations, networking and collaborative planning sessions, delegates shared ideas, developed school-level action plans and discussed how joined-up working can accelerate positive environmental change in schools and their wider communities. The gathering reflected the network’s commitment to reducing workload through collaboration, sharing expertise and supporting schools to access the latest research, funding opportunities and sustainability initiatives.
The South West Sustainability Network is free to join and welcomes trust and school leaders from across the region. The next online meeting will take place on Wednesday 18 November, 10.30am–11.30am, providing another opportunity to connect with colleagues, share best practice and hear the latest sustainability updates. If you would like to join the network and be part of future gatherings, please contact Claire Graham at c.graham@coriniumeducationtrust.net.
