
Water Recycling Operator

Vijay works for Wessex Water on the day to day running of the companies various sites. This includes involvement in water recycling – Vijay has responsibility to maintain and operate various stations and tanks in the process, including any chemical treatment needed.
This involves operating cool machines like telescopic fork lifts and large good vehicle shunters (to lift up and transport skips around site).

Official job title: Bioresources Site Operator
Workplace: Vijay works with lots of types of equipment, from the big machinery mentioned above, to screwdrivers and rakes. This type of hands on role follows the engineering route he wants to follow.
Vijay works in a big team of other site operators and mechanics, as well as external people to undertake specialist jobs.
Best bit? “Working outside and being able to manage my time as I go.“
Worst? You guessed it! “Getting covered in digested sludge.”
