Energy bills are high, so improving your home to increase energy efficiency isn’t just about reducing your carbon footprint – it has long term financial benefits for you to. That’s what retrofitting is all about – putting the best energy saving stuff into your home.
A great way to start looking at your energy efficiency at home, is to find out where heat is escaping. You can get companies in to assess using thermal heat imaging cameras – like the local not-for-profit CHEESE project (offering some assessments free or at discounted rates). In some local authorities you can rent the thermal imaging cameras for free.
Retrofit West is a great website to visit to find out how you can make your home more energy efficient and save costs on bills – plus they have all the up-to-date information on grants and funding to apply for to make a green switch up affordable.
