Launching Inspire Green Futures
The Inspire Sustainability team have been busily creating a new workshop, commissioned by the West of England combined authority, to inspire young people in the region into green jobs.
48 real people in green jobs from the West of England, were recruited to feature on the cards, and we’re happy to announce that they’ve finally been printed, packed, and delivery in schools has begun.
To celebrate the launch of the ‘Inspire Green Futures’ card pack, a Green Gathering was held on the evening of the 25th March at Scott Logic’s offices in Redcliffe. Loads of the local role models who feature on the top-trump style cards attended, alongside teachers, business representatives and coordinators from the local careers hub.
There were three short talks to mark Retrofit Action Week:
- Samantha Organ from UWE spoke about retrofitting historic buildings and diversifying construction
- Paul Lacey from ThermaMech spoke about the local heat network
- Hunyum Murya from Whitby Wood spoke about the challenges in sustainable architecture
All round a wonderful opportunity for those from different sectors of the greenspace to network and celebrate this project together.
