Cross-curricula chemistry for remote learning

Cross-curricula chemistry for remote learning

6 Jul 2020

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) are one of a few scientific organisations who really stepped up to support teachers during lockdown enforced home-schooling.

They’ve gone to town on their website, and there are three types of fantastic resources we want to point out…

Firstly, the RSC have created fantastic guides, short films, at home experiments and other resources for each primary curriculum topic:

Secondly, if it’s some great cross-curricula links you need for your class, then take a look at the “Science ideas webs“.

These planning tools help to embed science in lessons on space, the Romans, World War II and even the Stone Age. They also provide a variety of possible biology, chemistry and physics links for you to choose from. And each topic is split into three age ranges to cover different abilities.

And last, but certainly not least, short videos demonstrating how to do an easy home experiment (instructions are included) have been released every week of lockdown. And the Chemistry in your Cupboard series continue! Check out one examples below, and sign up to “Teach Chemistry” to get access to all the new jazzy stuff the RSC are producing to support teachers.
