The Big Beam In for British Science Week
Free lesson plans, teaching resources and live sessions for British Science Week!
The theme for British Science Week this year is Innovating for the Future so what better way to celebrate than to introduce your class to a real-life local innovator!?
Join schools throughout the region and take part in the Engineering Curiosity Big Beam In, 5th – 14th March
Once registered, your class will be paired up with a local engineer who will support your lesson during British Science Week by ‘beaming in’ via video call.
All participating schools will also receive their very own set of Engineering Curiosity cards with accompanying lesson plans, suitable for use both in the class or at home for remote learners.
Engineering Curiosity is a new set of 52 ‘top-trump’ style cards, each themed on a real-life local engineer from the West of England region. Through the cards, children can explore the diversity of engineering, its people, skills and future career opportunities.
The cards can be used to play several games, and with our newly developed lesson plans and curriculum-linked worksheets, can be easily integrated into your STEM or cross-curricular activities.
The Engineering Curiosity Big Beam In aims to connect children throughout the West of England with real-life engineers and foster a curiosity for all things engineering.
