Jane works for the Environment Agency, a government funded organisation that works to create better places for people and wildlife, and supports sustainable development.

Jane helps deliver the government’s programme of flood and coastal erosion risk management for England.

She works with teams of experts who check that projects to improve resilience to flooding and coastal change are a good use of public money and are well set up to succeed.

Jane is involved with projects of all sizes – from big flood defence schemes that prevent flood water from reaching houses and infrastructure and can cost many millions of pounds; to much smaller measures like natural flood management and flood gates that can be fitted on individual houses to stop flood water from getting in.
