Food Project Manager

Kate set up Frome Valley Growing Project because she could see that the systems around food production and distribution were using lots of fossil fuels and chemicals. She wanted her children to be part of a community that cares for land, and for people.

So she does just that – growing food that doesn’t travel far before being eaten by her local community. Including giving to food banks and community cafes.

The project provides education on best growing practices for schools, families and company groups. And is just an all round wonderful place to get outside in lots of green space.

Surprising bits? “I get to sit in a hammock whenever I want! I get free food. I have a special filter that filters rain water to drink.”
